Our ferry crossing was scheduled for later in the afternoon, but given the distance to South Derbyshire, I decided not to linger in the rain again. Instead, I opted to catch an early morning shuttle from Calais to Dover. This allowed me ample time to ride the 262 miles at a comfortable pace, knowing a warm welcome awaited me upon my arrival in Melbourne.
