Natzwiller to Konstance 142 mile

A crisp morning awaited us as we departed Natzwiller. Despite leaving a little later than planned, the weather remained steady, thankfully no rain or snow, despite the forecast of heavy snow ahead in the Tyrol and Dolomites. Luck seemed to be on our side today.

This weather was such a contrast to last year’s tour of Europe, where temperatures soared above 25°C on most days, with pleasantly warm evenings. I only hit rain once, while entering Switzerland, but otherwise, I was fortunate.

Instead of crossing the Rhine River at the usual Strasbourg point, we opted for a more scenic route, as we’ve done in recent years. Heading south of Strasbourg, we followed the L75 and L98 from Offenburg, then picked up the B33 south, winding our way through the Schwarzwald to Constance.

We arrived in Constance late in the afternoon, and after a quick check-in, the hotel receptionist directed us to the motorcycle bay at the rear. Of the hotel. Unfortunately, the accommodation left much to be desired—basic and somewhat disappointing.

For dinner, we dined at Brasserie Collette, a restaurant with locations in Berlin, Munich, and Constance, which offered a delightful end to an otherwise chilly day.
